QNC is a sociopathic troll.. BIFF is something different, imo. Trolls do not have anything invested in the topic at hand. They just think it's clever to say outrageously stupid things and get people to respond.
BIFF's a TTLA oldtimer with a bone to pick with IBM; he is clearly emotionally invested, but obviously isn't particularly happy with SCO's treatment of SysV.
If he were a REAL oldSCO/TTLA programmer, he would be much more vocal about it. But he has zero technical knowledge - none, zip, zero. So he wont openly say anything bad about SCO, slimeball Darl, small time hood Young, scammer Yarro, etc.
He also doesn't do very well with IP issues; he is clearly new to the topic, and only recently started learning how IP law (particularly US IP law) works.
He clearly is more interested in appearance than substance, so i'd say he was a low level marketing/sales droid with TTLA, and upset that Monterey never took off. That was his chance to go big time.. unfortunately, IBM took that away from him, and now he sits here, toiling away at style over substance, trying to find any bright light at the end of the tunnel, and best of all, taking potshots at IBM for screwing him over.
