Recs: 20 On the up side of Yarro scamming canopy; I think it's another example of what happens to anybody who does business with this crowd. Scox provides no value to anybody, and scox will sue you, or steal from you if they have half a chance. Msft = sued over dr-dos, also bad PR for financing, and didn't get much FUD value for their money. IBM = has lost millions in discovery, and legal fees so far. That's the price of having ever done business with scox. EV1 = lost business due to their participation in the scox scam. Sun = bad PR, didn't get much FUD value, millions spent. AutoZone = another bogus lawsuit, the price for doing business with scox. Chrysler = another bogus lawsuit, the price for doing business with scox. Scox resellers = having to provide more support, while scox cuts into their profits. Scox customers = crappy over...

That's the same sentiment expressed by my Dad, shortly before he passed away back in 2002. Unbeknownst to me, his securities broker was really pushing him to put some money into the stock market through money market funds... of course, he touted the aggressive approach as the best way to go, and he ended up putting 20,000 dollars in, with about a 80% high risk/20% low risk scheme. Not more than a week later, the Microsoft ruling hit, and my Dad lost over half of his money, never to see it again. Where did it go? No one could tell him. All I know is it literally killed him to know he, and millions of other average Joes, had their retirement nest egg virtually stolen from them. I know, investing is always risky, but I blame the idiot broker for pushing a twenty-something plan on a sixty-something investor. It was ...

But no, SCO still claims 1) there is SCO IP in Linux 2) you need an SCOsource license to run the Linux binaries http://www.sco.com/scosource/license_program.html In light of these public claims SCO has to have some sort of real IP claims against IBM. If SCO is not putting real IP claims (tradesecret or copyright) directly against IBM then all the stuff in the link is a straight forward scam. Either the claims in the link are true, in which case IBM is a direct infringer or SCO's claims are fradulent. SCO's failure to press these claims against IBM will stop them from being able to press any such claims against others. The Goliath player is in a bind, saying nothing lets David distort, misrepresent or plain lie without challenge. Reply and the public is unlikely to believe the reply, threaten David over lies and it just gets worse. Traditionally smart Goliaths clam up and try to get the affair finished quickly (sound like anyone's dreams of a fast settlement?). The dumb ones settle even quicker after talking. But there's a third option that SCOX apparently didn't believe could work: stop being Goliath, become David or at least find a David so aligned with your cause it can fight for you.
